The team traveled through the night last night from Camp 2 at 11,000 ft down to base camp. It was a long final push, but they had relatively good conditions and they were motivated to get back to the world of hot showers and cheese burgers. They spent several nervous hours at base camp watching the weather, which was marginal for flying this morning, but improved enough for the planes from Talkeetna Air Taxi to get in and bring them all home. The Mountain Trip van was waiting, and they are back in Anchorage this evening already making plans for a big dinner. We’ll get one of the guides to write a final wrap up post tomorrow after they get a well deserved rest.
These climbers put in a huge effort up there, congratulations to all of you!
