The team flew from the sleepy town of Talkeetna, Alaska yesterday and landed on the snowy airstrip known as Kahiltna International Airport, (aka Denali Base Camp). On Sunday, they spent the day making final checks on their equipment and meeting with some folks from the media.
The team had a busy day yesterday with an early morning drive from Anchorage to Talkeetna. They finished their registration with the National Park Service and were treated to an orientation by one of the many Climbing Rangers. Following the orientation, they boarded ski equipped airplanes flown by our friends at Talkeetna Air Taxi and flew to the glacier.
We’ll keep you posted as they call in updates from the glacier!
