The team hiked into the mountains today to their first camp at a place called Pampa de Lenas. They had a beautiful warm day to start their expedition and arrived in camp by 4pm this afternoon. For dinner tonight they enjoyed a traditional Asada which is a variety of steak and sausages cooked over an open fire. Our local mule drivers did the cooking and it sounds like it was a great first night under the stars high in the Andes.
