Dave Nesis called in an update from Camp Three at 14,200′. They were able to grab their cache down low at around 13,500′ and are in good position to continue up the route as the weather allows.
As soon as the weather allows, the team will ascend the headwall above camp and the steep climbing of the fixed lines. As this upcoming section of the route features much more exposed climbing, wind is more of a factor and good visibility is paramount.
The photo below shows a view of the route up from 14-Camp to High Camp at 17,200′. Traveling for 3,000′ in thin air, with heavy packs and in exposed terrain is no easy feat.
