Lead guide Rob “Durny” Durnell called in two posts from Base Camp. The team had a brief weather delay and flew to the glacier one day later than planned, but as they intended to spend their first day on the snow reviewing skills, the timing worked out well.
After loading up and flying to the glacier, they spent the day practicing glacier travel skills and rigging their sleds for the days to come. They went for a hike out of BC, which afforded them some views of the huge peaks surrounding camp and also of some whopper crevasses that border the relatively compact glacier under the camp itself.
Here’s Durny!
And again!
