December 26 Vinson Team is at Low Camp

Olivier called in a nice post from Low Camp, the first of two camps on the route up Mount Vinson in Antarctica.  The team made the decision to push up glacier today, and made the trip to Low Camp in about six hours.  The morning was cloudy, with light winds, but as the team hiked up the glacier, the winds died off and they established camp amidst clouds, but with nary a breath of wind.

The team did great today.  Everyone moved well, and they made good time.  The coming days will be spent acclimatizing, reviewing and practicing some of the skills they will need to employ to ascend to High Camp and then, making the tough move up to High Camp.

Great job team!!!
