The “Riblet” team called in after a relatively short day of dropping down about 700′ below camp to retrieve the cache they left at 13,500′ a couple of days ago. They plan to move up onto the Rib tomorrow.
The “Riblet” is a reference to the route these guys are attempting. There is a steep ridge of rock and snow that drops elegantly from just below the summit of Denali, known as the West Rib. The team will climb this route from 16,300′ up to the summit, via the variation known as The Upper Rib. Being a bit shorter than the whole enchilada, it is also known as The Riblet.
Here is the crew!
