UAE Denali Team 1 – Preparing To Go High

Gerald Oxley called in from Camp 3 at 14,200′ (4328m) to reoprt that the United Arab Emirates Team #1 has positioned themselves for a summit bid in the next few days.  They carried a load of supplies up onto the ridge above their camp, depositing it at an altitude of over 16,400 feet (5000m).

Major Hamad, the senior Emirati Officer of the team has made the decision that the two strongest of the team will move up to high camp and attempt the summit at the earliest opportunity.  The summit team plans to depart Camp 3 on Tuesday at 08:30, Insha’Allah.   The forecast looks favorable, and the rest of the team will support the summit climbers as they push for the top of North America.
