May 8 Team – At Camp 2

Vanessa called in to recap the team’s progress and to send regards to some loved ones.  The team moved up to Camp 2 at 11,200′ today.  They are set up in a stunningly beautiful, glacial basin at about 11,200′, with big views out to the west and northwest.  Ringing the basin are some huge ice cliffs and their next objective, Motorcycle Hill, a moderately steep climb of about 100′, which starts directly outside of their camp.

They will have a pretty easy day on the 13th, as they will drop down to where they left their cache of gear and supplies yesterday and retrieve all that kit.  This will take them about 1.5 – 2 hours all told, which means it is sort of an active rest day for the team.
