Matt Pickeren called in from High camp to give us a bit of a report of the team’s summit day and of their intended plans for today. It sounds like everyone did great and that they are happy that they did not wait a day, because it is colder and windier today than when they made their bid.
The plan is to pack up camp and head down the ridge to the fixed lines at the top of the Headwall. They will drop down the Headwall to 14,200′ (4328m) camp and pick up the cache of extra food, fuel and supplies that they left when they moved high a few days ago. They will then make their way down to the 11,200′ (3413m) camp where it sounds like they might spend the night.
