West Rib Climber Alga returns to Seattle

Climber Alga Nothern called in an update after flying off the mountain earlier this week from the West Rib expedition. Alga encountered some serious complications from altitude and was forced to make the tough but necessary call to leave the mountain. After descending quickly back to Anchorage, he is feeling much better. This affliction is unfortunately quite common for climbers with a tendency toward altitude sickness who are caught in a long low pressure system at 14-Camp. Many don’t find that they have a high propensity to altitude sickness until it is too late and they are forced to quickly descend or leave the route.
