June 22nd “Big Knots” Team at Denali Base Camp

Jesse Wright called in an update for the June 22nd team, who has arrived at Denali Base Camp! Unfortunately Jesse cuts out before he can go through introductions for the team, but check out their photos below from their flight out! See the previous “Meet the Team” post for them if you missed that, too!

The team has made their landing at Denali Base Camp at 7,200′ on the Kahiltna Glacier. With the days being extremely long this close to the summer solstice–no darkness whatsoever in the Alaska Range–the team will travel on the lower glacier on a night schedule to cross any snowbridges when they are at their most frozen.

Here’s Jesse for a brief moment:

  1. Nice work Big Knots. Excited for your team and to track your journey. “Tough times never last, tough people do!

  2. Great work Team Big Knots! Can’t wait to hear the next update.

    @Michael,
    I’m so proud of you. I admire all the work you’ve invested to make it to where you are today. I can’t wait to hear about this first leg of the trip and how you felt. Just know that while you were trudging up the side of the mountain I was sleeping peacefully with your 4 yo’s foot resting on my cheek. LOL.
    Love you
