May 18 Team Rests at 14 Camp

After days and days of working hard and making their way up the mountain, the May 18th Team took a well-deserved rest day at 14 Camp. Rest days are an important part of the schedule because it gives climbers time to rest, relax, hydrate, and re-group after many “move” days. And even though it was a “rest” day, the team still found time to practice skills that they will be using for the next phase of the climb—ascending the fixed lines. 14 Camp is located in the Genet basin, a spectacular setting with incredible views of the Alaska range.

At 14 Camp, climbers have a beautiful view of Mount Foraker, the second tallest peak in the Alaska range.
