May 19th West Buttress Denali Expedition – Rest Day at 14,200′

Assistant Guide Joe from the May 19th West Buttress Denali Expedition called in to report that the team enjoyed a nice sunny rest day at Camp 3 today.

Here’s Joe: Audio Recording

Climbers resting and enjoying the atmosphere of being on the tallest mountain in North America!

They are camping at 14,200′, acclimatizing to the altitude and waiting for a good weather window to allow them to move up to High Camp and make their summit bid! This team has already cached on the 16-Ridge so they are poised to move on up and we’re sending them good weather vibes (little wind, lots of sun, and not too cold!).

A beautiful day at 14-Camp.

Good luck team and thanks for the report, Joe!
