May 18 Team Weather Day at Camp 3

Heather reports the team had another weather day at Camp 3 yesterday. The upper mountain has been experiencing high winds and frigid temps, so they have not been able to put in their last cache at 16,200′ (4937m) just yet. The team took advantage of the day, though. And took some time to practice their rope and crampon skills, reviewing the skills they practiced earlier this week of how to ascend the fixed lines and use running belays/snow pickets. Not much else to report! The team is doing well, and is in high spirits. They are likely moving to cache on the ridge today and will be setting themselves up for a chance to get up to High Camp and then on to the summit!

Here’s Heather!
