Lead guide Logan updates us from High Camp! The team was able to push through the tough conditions, past the fixed lines, and up to the High Camp location at 17,200′ (5242m) yesterday. They join two other teams who have been waiting out the weather at High Camp for a summit window. The May 14 team climbed the 1,400′ to the fixed lines, then ascended 600′ up those ropes to the ridge at 16,200′ (4937m). Once on the ridge, they climbed another 1,000′ to High Camp. Getting up to this point in the trip offers phenomenal views and is in general full of excitement. Conditions can be tough up here, but now the team has a chance at a summit attempt. The team will take a well deserved rest day today, and after that they will evaluate conditions to determine when they will make their attempt!
