June 3 West Buttress Team — Rest day at Camp 2

Tony calls in after a meal of Philly Cheesesteaks! Today they were turned around by strong winds as they attempted to cache around the aptly named, “Windy Corner”. The team is feeling and looking (most importantly) great and in good spirits to get moving again soon. The route to Camp 14,200′ from Camp 2 is when you trade in snowshoes for crampons and begin climbing two size-able hills, “Motorcycle Hill” and “Squirrel Hill”. From here you can see Windy Corner in the distance and the goal is wrap around that feature to place the cache. Sometimes the wind allows you through and sometimes it doesn’t. Hopefully tomorrow is a new day and the team will place their cache, allowing them to be poised for the upper mountain. Stay tuned!
