Update from the Everest Team at Base Camp

It’s another beautiful sunny morning at Everest Base Camp, before the start of some rain and snow this afternoon. With closely monitoring the forecast, we have planned our next rotation to be for tomorrow, May 5. We have been watching the weather very closely now as Sherpa, guides and climbers prepare themselves again to move higher. There’s just a bit more snow forecast for tonight so planning tomorrow night. The icefall has been quiet for awhile now..
Lots of cards, Jenga, and reading in the dome! The Everest Link WiFi is working well for us now, allowing us to keep in contact with the outside world.
With all the COVID-19 information and misinformation floating around we thought it would be appropriate to make a statement that our Mountain Trip climbers and guides, or our Sherpa team, have had no confirmed cases of COVID. We have had two members flown to Kathmandu for other reasons that both tested COVID negative on their arrival. We have been diligent throughout our time at EBC to not mingle or socialize with other teams, as is usually customary.
