The weather has cleared and the climbers headed up the mountain today. The team took advantage of the sunny day to carry a load of food and fuel up to about 16,400ft on the ridge leading to high camp. They cached this load and descended back down to camp to spend one more night before moving up. It’s always a big day, and it’s the team’s first time up one of the steepest, most challenging sections of the route. They climbed up the “headwall” which is a relatively steep icy pitch gaining about 600 vertical feet and using a fixed line for additional security. The team did great and they were excited to get going again after weathering the storm for the last several days. They hope to move up to high camp tomorrow!
