May 10 Dagg Expedition – Practicing sharps before moving to High Camp

Mountain Trip guide Jason Denley called in an update on the West Buttress expedition, who are camped at 14,200′ for at least one more night. The team has been lucky to experience great, clear weather over the past couple of days at 14-Camp, where they have been hydrating, fueling up and resting in anticipation of heading for the upper mountain. They have officially put their sleds away from the time being, and will be trading in their snowshoes and poles for crampons and ice axes.

They hope to move up to High Camp at 17,200′ today (5/23), by ascending the fixed lines and steep headwall above Camp Three. Their next call to update will likely come in from High Camp!
