JUNE 10 WEDBERG TEAM BACKCARRIES

It was a beautiful, sunny day for the team to “backcarry”, or drop down and pick up their equipment and supplies that they cached a few days prior. Today is what we call an “active” rest day, because the cache site is not far from camp and the backcarry allows the team to stretch their legs, but not overly exert themselves.

The plan is to move a load of equipment and supplies to approximately 13,500′ tomorrow.  The team will begin ascending immediately out of camp, up Motorcycle Hill and then Squirrel Hill. They will continue up the Polo Fields, and then around Windy Corner, a notoriously windy area of climb. The cache site is located a bit beyond Windy Corner.
