The climbers, Alan, Phil, and our guide Pablo summitted Chimborazo today! Chimborazo is the highest peak in Ecuador at 20,564 ft/6,268 meters. The summit day typically starts at around 11pm the night before as we want to climb the mountain before the sun has a chance to warm things up and avalanche/rockfall hazards increase. It makes for a long night and day of climbing, but they were rewarded with a beautiful morning on the summit of Chimborazo. Congratulations to the climbers on a super successful trip!
After returning to the lodge and meeting Courtney and Sullivan, they all drove down to the resort town of Banos where they will spend the night at a lovely spa hotel.
Here’s Pablo checking in from Banos at the end of a great trip to Ecuador!
