The June 15th team has officially made the big push to High Camp at 17,200 feet (5,243 meters) — a major milestone on the West Buttress of Denali. After climbing up the fixed lines, traversing the breathtaking but exposed ridge at 16,000 feet, and ascending through the steep slopes to 17 Camp, the team is now tucked into one of the most extreme environments on the mountain.
Everyone is feeling the effects of the altitude and the effort — it was a long, physically demanding day, and the whole crew is ready for rest. The plan is to take a recovery day tomorrow to rehydrate, fuel up, and monitor the forecast closely before selecting the best possible summit window.
The excitement is building, and spirits are high as the team edges closer to their summit bid. They’re sending love to everyone back home and grateful for the support. Listen to the dispatch linked below and stay tuned — the next few days could bring the final push to the top of North America.
