June 17th Team First on the Fixed Lines!

The June 17th team made a strong move today, leading the charge up the fixed lines and setting the bootpack to the 16,000 ft / 4,877 m ridge — their highest point yet on the expedition. They were first in a long line of climbers taking advantage of a rare weather window to push higher, cache gear, and acclimate.

With clear skies and firm snow, the team climbed strong and steady, making excellent time on the technical terrain. Standing atop the 16K ridge was a major milestone — a huge step closer to their summit goal and a powerful moment above the clouds.

After a full day of climbing, the team descended back to 14 Camp (14,200 ft / 4,328 m) where they’ll rest, rehydrate, and begin preparing for their next big move to High Camp (17,200 ft / 5,243 m).

Stay tuned for more updates from the upper mountain — and tap the recording link below to hear the latest straight from the team!
