June 17th Team Holds Steady at Camp 3

The June 17th team is holding steady at 14 Camp (14,200 ft / 4,328 m) after receiving nearly a foot and a half of new snow overnight. While the storm kept the team tent-bound for much of the day, the sun has finally started to peek out, offering a brief break in the weather and a glimmer of what’s to come.

With this much fresh accumulation, tomorrow’s plan is to play it by ear. The team will assess how the snow settles overnight and carefully evaluate avalanche conditions, especially on the steeper slopes above camp. Their next move—ascending the fixed lines and caching on the 16,000 ft / 4,877 m ridge—depends entirely on what the mountain allows.

Thanks for following along on this journey—stay tuned for updates as the team keeps a close eye on the terrain and waits for a safe window to continue their push higher up the West Buttress. 🎙️
