June 11th Team Gets Rare Stunning Conditions at 17,000 ft / 5243 m

Guide Kaylee Walden from the June 11th team is here checking in from 17 Camp after what she described as one of the most beautiful days she’s ever had on the mountain.

The team left 14 Camp (14,200 ft / 4,328 m) this morning and made their way up the iconic 16,000 ft ridge — a dramatic alpine spine connecting the upper mountain. They moved smoothly along the fixed lines, then up and over the ridge in calm, balmy weather. With blue skies and warm air, only a few layers were needed. They had the entire route to themselves, making for an incredibly peaceful and scenic ascent.

They’re now settled in at 17 Camp (17,200 ft / 5,243 m), soaking in the views and preparing for a possible summit bid tomorrow — conditions look promising.

The team is rooting for fellow guide groups also pushing for the top and sending love to everyone following along back home.
