Denali Expedition Update – June 3, 2025
Camp 2 | Elevation: 11,200 ft / 3,414 m | Weather: Rain, low clouds, light wind — highs in the low 50s (°F)
Now ten days into their expedition, the May 24th Denali team remains tucked in at Camp 2, holding steady as poor weather delays their move up the mountain. Perched at 11,200 feet, Camp 2 is a protected basin below Motorcycle Hill, where the group has built strong snow walls, secured their tents, and created a surprisingly cozy outpost. While they await a clear weather window to push toward Camp 3 at 14,200 feet — a demanding climb up steep terrain — they’ve turned downtime into a surprisingly joyful chapter.
From their latest voice message, it’s clear the team is in good spirits. With three self-declared chefs in charge, meals have been a daily highlight, and the snack supply has reached legendary status. Between long rests, shared jokes, and a favorite new camp game, they’ve managed to keep morale high despite the storm. While eager to climb higher, the team is safe, well-fed, and sending lots of love to family and friends back home — grateful for both the mountain and the pause.
