The May 12 Team had a relaxing morning and a big breakfast before heading back down to pick up their cache of supplies just a little bit back down the hill. It took them only a couple of hours to retrieve everything and get back to camp. We consider this an “active” rest day, where climbers have an opportunity to recover a bit, but still get some exercise. This is an important elevation to acclimatize to prior to moving up to high camp and pushing for the top, so they’ll spend at least 4 nights here before moving to high camp.

The May 12th team moved on up to Camp 2 today at 11,000ft/3300meters. Climber Mohit Sial does a great job of describing thier jouney today up the glacier in the evening dispatch from the team.
