May 12th Denali Team Carry Loads around Windy Corner

The May 12 Denali team carried a load of food and fuel up to 13,500ft around Windy Corner today where they cached it in preparation for moving up to Camp 3. The load carry/cache day is an important way that the team gets all of the food and supplies up the mountain, and is how they are able to acclimatize to the increasing altitudes. The weather was a bit windy today at Windy Corner, as is typical, but they did great and were able to get the job done.  They dug a deep hole in the snow where they deposited the food and fuel they’ll use later on the trip, buried it and marked it with a big tall wand so they don’t loose this important cache. Then they descended back down to Camp 2 with empty packs to their tents and a nice dinner.

The team is moving right along and doing great, here’s the evening call from the May 12 team.  It’s a non-english speaking climber, but I’m not sure who left the message tonight if anyone knows who this is, leave us a comment.
