The May 21 Team called in from Denali base camp 7,200 ft (2194 m) after finally getting the weather window to make the epic descent from High Camp 17,200 ft (5242 m). Our crew traveled overnight (it never gets dark on Denali!) to make it all the way down to where they began their expedition weeks ago to position themselves for a flight back to Talkeetna. We’re so stoked for this team on their full-circle journey and the massive effort they put into this expedition.
Congratulations on completing the majority of the climb to the high point of North America. We know this seminal experience will stick with these climbers for the rest of their lives. The next time you will be hearing from them will be from their cell phones back in the real world. Until then, all the team has left to do is sit back, relax, and enjoy their last bit of life on the glacier.
Thank you to everyone who followed along and supported these climbers from afar. We can’t wait for you to connect with your loved ones back home and hear all about their time in the magical place that is Denali. Cheers!
Well done all 👏👏
I’m happy for all the team that they nearly made it to summit .. they would have definitely made it if not for the difficult weather they faced .. well done and thank you for the updates from all involved 👌👍👍
