May 28 Team Holding at 14 Camp

It was a cold, windy day on the mountain and the team stayed hunkered down at 14 Camp. Weather days/rest days are helpful for the team, as it allows everyone to recover, hydrate, and mentally prepare for the move to High Camp. And conditions are fairly tolerable at 14 Camp, as far as those things go. There’s usually other teams in camp so plenty of opportunity to meet other climbers and share experiences. It’s not uncommon for climbers to organize camp-wide games and feats of general silliness are observed from time to time. If I recall correctly, it was a (FEMALE) Mountain Trip guide who won the camp pull up championship a few years ago. Climbers always find ways to break the tedium of weather days.

Mountain Trip guides marvel at the wind on the upper mountain from the relative warmth of 14,200′ camp.
