Zach Johnson has arrived at 11,000′ with the entire expedition in his wake. Temperatures were reported to be tolerable despite a stout headwind, and now after probing their campsite to prove the absence of crevasses they are tucked in behind snow walls as the wind is forecasted to pick up even more today. Climbers start to notice the altitude at 11k, so guests will be counseled in the pressure breathing technique which is supposed to draw a little more oxygen out of each breath by increasing the pressure in the lungs. It works well, but it makes everyone sound like they are continually blowing out a birthday cake. Practice yourself while reading this, all you have to do is purse your lips and blow out your breath like you’re blowing out a candle across the table. Now repeat for every breath. Whatever works!
