The May 8th team is kicking off the Mountain Trip Denali season!

The day started with an early start from Anchorage at 5:30am. It is about two hours of driving to the tiny town of Talkeetna, Alaska. Here, the team met with the Park Rangers and without too much waiting around, everyone was able to fly in yesterday afternoon. The flight in is an exciting moment as it finally feels like all of your training and anticipation has led you to this, and it’s finally happening. As you fly out of Talkeetna you cross braided rivers before arriving at the base of the Alaska Range. The views are truly unbeatable as you make your way to the landing strip at basecamp, and now it’s off to the races! The team will spend their first night here before an early start tomorrow morning up to Camp 1.
