May 20 Team Backcarries from 10,200 Feet

Big thanks to Sid Barass for calling in such an informative dispatch from 11,000 feet! The satellite connection was a bit garbled at times, but the energy and enthusiasm in his voice speaks for the team – they are doing great!

Today involved their first “backcarry.” This involved departing their Camp 2 and descending back down to the site of the cache they deposited a couple days ago. After digging up their cache, they then carried the supplies up to their camp. Backcarry!

Today was a relatively easy one, as they had very light loads for the 30 minute hike downhill and while they did have heavy packs and sleds after grabbing their cache, it was only for about 90 minutes of work before they arrived back in camp to relax for the rest of the day.

Enjoy the dispatch, as Sid introduces the team!
