May 18 Team at Camp 3

Guide Chris calls in from Camp 3 last night. The team had a good rest and prep day, with lots of sunshine and warm temps. Sounds like sunhoody and Hawaiian shirt weather! Before moving to High Camp the team will go through everything they have and try to narrow down gear and snacks to just the most necessary items. Ascending to 17,200′ (5242m) is hard enough without a too-heavy pack! Chris reports the team practiced crevasse rescue skills as well, utilizing this down time to do some learning. It sounds like the team plans to move to High Camp today. There may have been some miscommunication on when they set their cache on the ridge at 16,200′ (4937m) (meaning I may have missed it! There are a lot of teams to keep up with right now, about 6 of them, so bear with me!), but sounds like they are ready to make the move! This is very exciting as from High Camp the team will be set up to make a bid for the summit!
