Our May 11th team made great progress today with an exceptionally high cache before Camp 2!
The team pushed their cache further up the route than a standard cache day calls for, getting a significant amount of weight off their backs and closer to where they’ll need it next. By moving supplies higher than expected, they’ve effectively shortened tomorrow’s carry to Camp 2, since much of the gear they would have hauled the full distance is already waiting for them up the route. This means lighter loads, a quicker pace, and less time exposed to the elements during their move day. It’s the kind of strong, efficient day that builds momentum on a Denali expedition and gives the team a real cushion as they continue working higher on the mountain.
Here is a message from Jake Baldwin from Camp 1.
