The team is officially off the mountain! After days of climbing through Kilimanjaro’s incredible range of landscapes and standing on the Roof of Africa, the team has made it safely back down and now has service to share the news.
This morning, the team hiked out through dense jungle in a light rain. The trail was muddy and slick on the way down, a fitting bookend to a climb that started in this same lush rainforest zone days ago. Despite the conditions, the team hiked out without incident and completed their descent safely.
It’s hard to overstate what this team accomplished. They climbed through every one of Kilimanjaro’s climate zones, from rainforest to alpine desert to the icy summit zone, pushed through a long and demanding summit night, and stood on top of Uhuru Peak at 19,341 feet, the highest point in Africa. They supported each other every step of the way, kept their spirits high through the tough stretches, and took in some of the most spectacular scenery on the planet.
Now that the team is off the mountain, it’s time for the well-earned rewards: hot showers, fresh food, real beds, and the chance to relax and reflect on an unforgettable adventure. Congratulations to the entire team on an incredible climb. We’re so proud of everything they accomplished on Kilimanjaro!
