June 28 team calls in from Camp 1 at 7,800 ft

They passed the phone around for the whole team to get a chance to say hello.   Sean McManamy starts out the call saying they are all doing good at Camp 1 after a “spicy” day of glacier travel yesterday.  They were able to navigate the worst of the crevassed areas on the lower part of the Kahiltna glacier yesterday without incident, but it was a bit of work for the guides to find a route.   They had more snow and even rain last night and this morning, there is still a low pressure system to the south of the range pumping warm, moist air into the mountains today.

Here’s the phone call.   The satellite signal goes in and out a bit, but you’ll get the idea.
