We’re finally getting some nice weather and have enjoyed sunshine all morning! Our team is in camp and getting ready for our next rotation up high. We are all rested, recovered and ready to go.

Irek, Gregg and Newall summitted “Kala Patar 2” near Base Camp, a worthy peak near Pumori, see photos below. The current plan is for Bill, Ephi, Neal and Chris to move up to Camp 2 today, then Irek, Gregg, Newall and I will be off tomorrow morning (May 2nd) at around 4am to make our way up.  There is no hurry yet, as the installation of the fixed lines have not been completed to the South Col yet. They should be ready at any time now, and we will try to be in position to go higher as soon as they are “in.” We are planning to spend 5 to 6 nights up high, reaching a new high point of Camp 3, before descending once again to take a break before our summit attempt.

Here are some more photos from the past week, enjoy!
