Patience on Mount Everest

The 2017 Mountain Trip Everest team is staying fit and acclimated at base camp by taking daily hikes up to nearly 19,000 ft on nearby Pumori.  The weather up high on Mount Everest has continued to be difficult, winds and snow continue, but teams have pushed up to the top and the rope is now fixed to the summit.  Our tents and oxygen are sitting at the South Col, and the team is strong and ready, now it’s a matter of patience for the right weather.  We plan our expeditions to be ready to summit some time between the 18th and 26th of May, and everything is in place now.  We are receiving custom weather forecasts and consultations each day, that the guides are analyzing (and agonizing over) as the summit window approaches!

Follow the trip dispatches from our Everest Expedition, and the Denali season on the Trip Reports page.

Here’s a video of our team on their hike up to Camp 1 Pumori today, staying acclimated and fit around base camp.
