Kyle Horner

I grew up in Steamboat Springs, CO where I was lucky enough to be exposed to a variety of forms of mountain travel and develop a general love of being in the mountains.  I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sustainability studies from Colorado Mountain College, worked on small farms, and spent a year living in New Zealand prior to pursuing guiding. I moved up to the northwest shortly after and currently call it home. I’ve spent the last 5 years guiding rock and alpine climbing in the cascades with Mountain Madness, and have spent several seasons ski patrolling at Stevens Pass Ski resort as well.  This will be my 2nd season up on Denali, and I can’t wait to get back.

I am currently pursuing IFMGA certification and have completed the Rock Guide, Advanced Rock Guide, Alpine Guide, Ice Instructor, and Ski Guide Courses. I am also a certified Single Pitch Instructor, Wilderness First Responder, CPR/AED certified, Pro 1 Avalanche certified, and am a certified AIARE instructor.
