Having grown up in the hills of Tennessee, I feel like I’ve always been one in search of adventure.  I found my love for the vertical world while learning to rock climb the steep walls of The Gunks in New York, and I took my first guide position leading rock climbing trips in the Adirondacks.

After moving to Colorado and completing a B.A. in English and Leadership in 2010, along with many exploratory trips into the Rockies, I refocused my efforts on the Himalaya and returned to India for the third time to climb in the Garhwal, Kumoani, and Ladakh Ranges.  While guiding, one of my major passions is explaining the cultural history of an area and sharing how climbing and exploration have effected the land and local people.  Mountain Trip invited me to join their family in 2014 and I’m looking forward to more trips up Denali.

Thus far, I’ve guided mountaineering in India, Japan, Alaska, Washington, and throughout the western U.S..  I hold certifications as a Wilderness First Responder, AIARE Level II, Leave No Trace Educator, and I’m working toward my AMGA Alpine Guide certification. I live with my wife Jess and dog Kale in Carbondale, CO, where we welcomed our daughter Lucy Rose into our lives in late autumn, 2014!
