Fischer Hazen

Growing up in Telluride, with the San Juan Mountains as my playground, inspired me to get out and explore at every possible opportunity over the past 27 years. When the time came to leave for college I knew I wanted to stay in the amazing state of Colorado where the climbing and skiing is world class. While at Colorado College, I discovered the world of instructing and guiding. As luck would have it, I had met Todd Rutledge while growing up in the small town of Telluride. Once I realized my passion for guiding and had gained experience guiding/instructing rock climbing and skiing for Colorado College, I called Todd. Somehow, Todd and Bill gave me a job. I haven’t looked back since!
I joined the Mountain Trip team in the winter of 2015 guiding ice climbing in the Telluride region. From there I have guided nine trips into the Alaska range (eight on Denali and one on Huntington), an Aconcagua trip, Kilimanjaro, and work as one of Mountain Trip’s Telluride guides, guiding ice climbing, backcountry skiing, rock climbing and mountaineering in Colorado, Utah and surrounding areas. I love spending time in the mountains, especially with the Mountain Trip family! See you soon on a big mountain, a deep powder day or here enjoying the desert rock!
I am an AMGA certified Rock Guide, Apprentice Ski and Alpine Guide. I also hold my WFR (Wilderness First Responder Medical Certification) and my PRO 1 Avalanche certification.
