Lead Guide Adam Smith called in from a windy camp at 17,200′ (5242 m). The team had no opportunity to try the summit today, as it was just too windy. They have been hanging tough, working hard and exercising exactly the right patience necessary to give them the best possible chance at the top, unfortunately, the harsh winds scouring the upper mountain have just not abated.
Tomorrow is their last chance for a shot at the top. Our teams carry 22 days of food on Denali and they need two days to descend back to Base Camp, so the math leaves them with one last opportunity.
Let’s cross our fingers for a bit less wind tomorrow!
Here’s Adam!
So hoping the winds calm down. I will continue my prayers for good weather, good health and safe climbing. Take care Linda.
Hoping for good weather for you tomorrow! Be safe!
oh dear. May the wind calm down and give opportunity to summit. we all shall pray for that.
God bless. Sanjay kumar
