Guide Jeff Dobronyi called in from Base Camp. The June 13th team spent the day reviewing skills and preparing their packs, sleds and supplies for the push up glacier! Actually, they will start their day by descending down the Southeast Fork to the point where it joins the main body of the massive Kahiltna Glacier. At this point, they will begin ascending the Kahiltna for several miles until they reach a suitable camp site foe the next couple of nights.
This is a long, hard day, with the heaviest loads of the trip. They will travel about five miles in total and pass by some stunning neighboring peaks on their way up glacier.
