Join our @arcteryx Fall Climbing Clinics!Starting next Tuesday, Sept. 17 we’ll be holding FREE and open climbing sessions for our local Telluride community to meet new climbing partners, sample local venues, and ask questions in a relaxed, supportive environment. Lead by experienced rock climbing guides, we’ll set up top-ropes and supervise, answer questions, go over technical systems and provide movement instruction.Clinics will be held every Tuesday for three straight weeks (Sept. 17 and 24, and Oct. 2) from 4-8 p.m. or until it gets dark. Our first clinic will take place at the Dark Side Wild Westerlies in Ophir, CO. We’ll announce the location of each follow-up clinic one week out (on Tuesday) on Instagram and Facebook.We recommend registering online (again, it’s free!) at the link in our bio (directions will be provided in the confirmation email). You are also welcome to just show up if you can’t make it at 4 p.m. Either way, we’ll kindly need you to sign a digital or paper waiver to participate.Required gear: Rock climbing shoes, harness and helmet, as well as a belay device and chalk bag. And don’t forget that fall is often the best season for getting up high.We can take you up well-known 14ers like Sneffels, Mount Wilson, El-Diente or Wilson Peak. A short bit back @kay.lee.walden had the rare pleasure of guiding the 7 Summits, one of our favorite local routes in the San Juans!Beginning and ending in Telluride, the route links up one 12er followed by six 13ers: Ballard, Ballard’s Horn, La Junta, Wasatch, two unnamed peaks, and Oscar’s. Once that’s done, you descend from McCarron Junction down the Wasatch Trail into Bear Creek.It was a big day (~15 miles and 7,200k vert), and very much a perfect day for such an excellent mission!

Additionally, reservations for @altalakesobservatory and @haydenbackcountry are currently available to book.All four huts offer cozy lodging, great food, good times, and access to incredible backcountry terrain. The catch? Space is limited and dates fill fast, so act faster.We ski guide out of each of these huts, so once you’ve secured your spot—whether it’s just you or a whole crew—hit us up and we’ll pair you with AMGA trained or certified ski guides who are knowledgeable, skilled, and dialed in on the terrain surrounding the hut.(Please note: Some huts, like OPUS Hut, require you to book lodging and food for the guide, so plan ahead.)Are you ready for winter?! ⛷️❄️

And what a Denali season it was! Mountain Trip’s 2024 season on “The Great One” was epic. This year, climbers from 15 of our 20 Denali teams reached the summit and, most importantly, every one of our guides and guests came home safely. Two Sneffels summits in as many days!Mount Sneffels is without doubt an iconic Colorado 14er, but what makes it so fun to guide are the multiple and varying routes up to the summit.The mountain is typically accessed from either Yankee Boy Basin or Blue Lakes, and depending on which route you choose, can range from Class 3 to 5.6.We typically guide the Lavender Col (Standard Route, Class 3), but also love to venture up the Southwest Ridge (Class 3-4) and North Buttress (5.6).On these most recent trips, guide @therealunclebigbear22 ascended the North Buttress, and @jesse_m_yon the Lavender Col with a father and son team, their first 14er!

Join us on the Telluride Via Ferrata for the 4th of July 🇺🇸🎆In addition to already being a totally unique adventure in the San Juans, what makes doing the route so special on the the 4th of July are the fighter jets!During the morning parade on Main Street, jets buzz the town of Telluride, and their exit is the end of the box canyon, flying just above climbers. No kidding, you can actually see the pilots in the cockpit!It’s a wild experience that you can only get this one time during the year 🛩️ ⛰️

10 DAYS: That’s how long it took for our “Quick Ascent” June 15th West Buttress Team to fly onto the glacier, SUMMIT Denali, and then return to Talkeetna, round trip! 👏🥳🤘What an amazing expedition! We are so psyched for the team and proud of their efforts on “The Great One.” This marks the second successful summit of the season for guides Matt Park (@themattparkeffect) and Boaz Cesaretti (@boazonearth). Also, we’re pretty confident that they claim the title of “tallest guide team on Denali”! 😜We’re sending a huge congratulations to the guides and the climbers of the June 15th expedition. It’s been an awesome season for Mountain Trip’s Denali teams, with many successful summits and, more importantly, many safe returns home 🙏
