Michael (Mija) Pedreros

I grew up in Chile and have dedicated the past 14 years of my life to climbing and working as a mountain guide, from the high mountains of northern Chile to the granite spires of Patagonia, the big walls of Yosemite Valley, the rock in the Northwest Territories up in Canada, the High Sierra in California, and now the snowy and icy mountains in Alaska.

I have found a true passion for being in the mountains and sharing his stoke with others. I studied Management in EcoTourism, which has guided me in a career as an outdoor educator. In 2020, I moved to the U.S. to pursue my relationship with my wife Paloma. To be able to keep working as a guide, I had to start the certification process through the AMGA (American Mountain Guiding Association), and am currently certified as an Certified Rock Guide, Apprentice Alpine Guide, and Ice Climbing Guide. I also hold a Wilderness First Responder, Leave No Trace Trainer, and American Avalanche Association Pro 1.

Since 2023, I have co-guided four trips to Denali with one summit in June of 2024. I am currently getting ready and psyched for the 2025 Alaska season!
