Kyle Hornor
I grew up in Steamboat Springs, CO where I was fortunate to be able to run around the canyons and mountains unsupervised with my friends. I think this fostered a deep love of the mountains and adventures with friends, which eventually led me to my career as a mountain guide.
In 2019 I did my first expedition to the Alaska Range where we climbed 3 pitches of our route before returning to our tent where we waited out a week long storm. After that I was hooked on Alaska and began guiding with Mountain Trip on Denali in 2021. Since then I’ve done 7 expeditions on the West Buttress and 3 expeditions elsewhere in the Alaska Range. In the summer you can find me guiding rock and alpine climbing for Exum in the Teton Range, and in the winter I guide skiing at a mechanized (snowcat/heli/snowmobile/utv) operation called Monument in the Bear River Range, UT.
In my free time I enjoy floating on rivers and lakes, riding my bike, and cooking good food with my partner Emma.
I am an IFMGA licensed Mountain Guide. I hold a Wilderness First Responder, LNT, and Professional Level 2 avalanche certification.
