Jon-Paul Brodd

I grew up in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Virginia. My first involved nature trip was camping at 1.5 years old which set the stage for my love of nature, specifically mountain landscapes. Since then I have never wandered far from mountains and eventually made a move to Telluride, CO.
After finishing my college studies in Virginia I moved near Atlanta, GA and was introduced to yoga. The yoga stuck and led me to yoga teacher training, which then led to a full time career of yoga instruction. This ignited my passion for teaching and sharing experiences with others.
In 2014 I moved to Telluride, CO sight unseen and immersed myself in its rugged alpine environment. Those early years of experience and skill building set the foundation for my current career as a guide. For half a decade I guided for a local outdoor adventure camp. There I
served as climbing director where I led, coordinated, and oversaw seasonal rock climbing curriculum.
I joined Mountain Trip in 2021 and have enjoyed the seasonal flow that both mountain guiding and the wild San Juan Mountains provide. I hold current AMGA certifications as well as wilderness medicine. My mountain and climbing ventures have taken me to the varied corners of the American West, Australia, Europe, among others.
When not guiding I can be found teaching skiing, reading, and exploring new corners of the globe. Guiding and teaching are my passion as you never know what a new perspective or experience may lead to. I am excited to continue my professional development/education through Mountain Trip and the AMGA as well as sharing the mountain environment as a professional guide.
