Joe Kinner

My name is Joe Kinner and I hail from Fall City, WA. My introduction to the mountains was learning to alpine ski at a young age. Living in an area with access to all sorts of cool adventures enabled me to get exposed to ski touring, mountaineering, and rock climbing fairly young as well. For me the mountains are a place that enables the most amazing learning, growth, and adventure.

I am currently based in Silverton, CO and work full-time as a guide. I spend time all over the American West and beyond, guiding rock climbing, ice climbing, ski touring, avalanche education and mountaineering. Some of my favorite places I guide are the San Juan Mountains, Teton and Wind River Ranges, Alaska Range, Red Rocks, Moab, and the North Cascades. Though, any trip can be fun with a motivated crew!

Something I love about my job is the amazing people it exposes me to. I love meeting new folks and working with them to reach a goal, whether that’s summiting a snowy mountain or becoming proficient in a technical skill.

I am a Certified Alpine and Rock Guide with the American Mountain Guides Association, as well as an Assistant Ski Guide and an AIARE Course Leader. I hold Wilderness First Responder and Leave No Trace Master Educator certifications. I am excited to get out with you on your next big adventure!
